This build is made primarily for solo players. You will be focusing on getting huge fireball crits while staying away from the action. If you are looking for a group oriented twink build then I suggest the Utility Frost Build.
A huge downside of this build is the significantly lower health pool. You will not be able to stay closer to the action because you are going to die quickly. This build focuses on making your spell power, fireball range and dps high. Essentially, you will be trying to stay at max distance shooting off as many fireballs as you can. You will be killing a lot of people but you will probably not be the deciding factor in a matches victory. That honor would probably go to a frost mage. However...this build is really just fun. You will be taking down non-twinks quickly and doing massive damage to even the most geared twinks. If you are just looking for a good time with a mage this is your build. |
Tier 0:
Gear that is easily accessible (usually exclusively AH) but not optimal. This gear should be used if you cannot get access to Tier 1 twink gear for whatever reason. Tier 1: Gear that can be obtained from the AH (at a reasonable price), through dungeon runs or through high level quests. Much of Tier 1 is viable long-term. Tier 2: Gear that can be obtained from the AH but is usually extremely expensive. Tree Bark Jacket, Twisted Chanter’s Staff and Shadowfang are a few items that fit into this category. It’s recommended to grab these types of items whenever someone puts them on the AH at a low cost. Tier 3: Gear that can be obtained but is usually part of an extensive grind or has to be competed for. |
