The “Survival Build” is gear focusing on maintaining high health. The Warlock talents will boost your stamina by a set percentage so stacking stamina is going to maximize that effect. You will still be using all of your DoTs but focusing more on Fearing and generally disrupting the enemy team. This build should be used primarily when you know you are going to be focused on in a battle. Using Fear usually makes you a target the team wants taken down. Make it harder for them to take you down with this build.

Tier 0:
Gear that is easily accessible (usually exclusively AH) but not optimal. This gear should be used if you cannot get access to Tier 1 twink gear for whatever reason. Tier 1: Gear that can be obtained from the AH (at a reasonable price), through dungeon runs or through high level quests. Much of Tier 1 is viable long-term. Tier 2: Gear that can be obtained from the AH but is usually extremely expensive. Tree Bark Jacket, Twisted Chanter’s Staff and Shadowfang are a few items that fit into this category. It’s recommended to grab these types of items whenever someone puts them on the AH at a low cost. Tier 3: Gear that can be obtained but is usually part of an extensive grind or has to be competed for. |
Survival Build: Why should you play this build?
This is the easier build for Warlocks in the 19 bracket. Stacking stamina allows you to stay alive longer and keep your main CC “Fear” up consistently. The longer you are alive, the longer your DoTs stay up and people stay CC’ed. There are also a few important distinctions for the Warlock class when stacking stamina.
- Other classes need to balance health and mana gear. The need to keep health high and a decent mana pool lead other classes to use “of the eagle” gear while Warlocks can more effectively use “of stamina” gear due to the ability to Life Tap.
- As the talents for each build are the same, you can just swap back and forth between builds. A bandage should get you back up to full health when swapping gear.
